Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan high-level meeting in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan have advanced efforts to deepen academic cooperation, as senior government leaders met with Educational Advisor, the company that owns medical universities in Kyrgyzstan, including the International University of Kyrgyzstan – International School of Medicine (IUK‑ISM).

In a high-level meeting, Mr. Imran Muhammad Nazir, CEO of Educational Advisor, engaged with Syed Mustafa Kamal, Federal Minister for National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, and Dr. Fazal Hussain Chaudhry, Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Member of the National Assembly.

The agenda focused on expanding cooperation in medical education, developing structured support for Pakistani students abroad, and strengthening long-term institutional partnerships.

Educational Advisor and IUK‑ISM: Reliable pathways for Pakistani students

Mr. Nazir underlined the pivotal role of Educational Advisor, which operates medical universities in Kyrgyzstan. He highlighted that among them, IUK‑ISM has emerged as a preferred choice for Pakistani students, offering:

• Internationally recognized MBBS programs
• Affordable and transparent admissions
• State-of-the-art medical training facilities

He further emphasized that consistent government backing is crucial to safeguard students’ academic futures and ensure their smooth integration into Pakistan’s healthcare system upon return.

PMDC’s role in ensuring quality and recognition

A high-level delegation from Kyrgyzstan, led by Kendirbaeva D.Sh, Minister of Science and Education, visited the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) earlier this year to explore opportunities for collaboration in medical education between the two countries.

Pakistan’s medical regulatory body has been actively involved in strengthening this cooperation. A Kyrgyz government delegation, led by Kendirbaeva D.Sh, Minister of Science and Education, recently visited the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) to explore collaborative opportunities and bolster institutional ties. At the PMDC headquarters, both sides discussed:

• Registration protocols for foreign graduates
• Accreditation of medical colleges in Kyrgyzstan
• Admission criteria for Pakistani students

PMDC President Prof. Dr. Rizwan Taj stressed that:

“Only graduates from PMDC-recognized foreign institutions are eligible for provisional registration and must pass the National Registration Examination (NRE) to practice in Pakistan.”

He advised aspiring students to verify the accreditation status of their chosen foreign institutions through the PMDC website before proceeding abroad.
