LAHORE: Dr Yasmin Rashid, Health Minister (HM) of Punjab, recently noted that breast cancer affects a growing number of people globally every year an hence, oncology units are being set up at all province hospitals. She spoke as the chief guest at the Breast Cancer Awareness Seminar held at the INMOL (Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Lahore) Hospital.

The minister congratulated INMOL Hospital management for organising a great event and said that Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan, and Sardar Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister of Punjab, want to provide the best quality health services to the people of Punjab.

“During my illness, my students provided me medical treatment. The bond between a doctor and their patient is significant. A patient gives their everything to his doctors; they entrust the doctor with their lives.”, she noted.

“Through determination and resilience, one can beat cancer. I continued my work during treatment. Sickness is a trial a man faces, and one should remain positive when facing it. Doctors are called Messiahs and, through quality treatment, they can vindicate and justify the honour entrusted in this word.” she expressed.

“Breastfeeding must be encouraged as Allah Almighty has put all necessary nutrition needs of a child in it. A mother’s importance never decreases in human life. Hence, seven state-of-the-art mother and child hospitals are being set up in Punjab. At Ganga Ram Mother and Child Block, a separate Oncology Unit shall be set up.” she added.

“The government would support INMOL Hospital in all possible ways,” she promised.
