COVID-19 claims two more doctors’ lives

KARACHI: Two more senior doctors have lost their lives in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Sindh.

A senior consultant, Dr Aslam Shah, recently passed away due to the COVID-19 in Karachi. He was admitted to a private sector hospital, where he died during treatment. He was practicing at the Hilal-e-Ahmer in Clifton, Karachi.

Similarly, Additional District Health Officer (ADHO), Dr Sattar Phulpoto, lost his life in the war against COVID-19 in Khairpur.

A total of 62 healthcare workers have died due to the COVID-19 in the Sindh province so far, including 56 doctors and six other medical staff.  

The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA-Centre) data showed that at least 209 healthcare workers have died due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Pakistan, including 178 doctors, 30 nurses and paramedical staff, and one medical student.
