KARACHI: Dr Khalid Zubairi, a paediatrician, said that the change in weather has increased cough, flu, fever and respiratory diseases in children.

Due to dry and cold weather, many children are reported in hospitals with fever, cough, flu and other seasonal diseases. He informed that dengue and malaria cases are also being reported in hospitals.

“Parents should vaccinate their children to boost their immunity. Children should wear proper clothes and cover their heads, face, and mouth to protect them from the cold. Parents should not allow them to go out unnecessarily in winter and do not take them with them because they can contract transmissible diseases”.

Dr Khalid Zubair said that although the severity of COVID-19 has decreased, it has not been eradicated yet. Therefore people of all age groups should take preventive m.  He said that the Sindh government had launched a vaccination campaign from November 15 to November 27 to protect children from measles and rubella.
