KARACHI: Dr Talat Zehra, Assistant Professor, Jinnah Sindh Medical University(JSMU), received an award at the annual conference of Digital Pathology Association (DPA), Las Vegas.  

The award was given in a session held at the Headquarters of the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Pakistan (CPSP) by Dr Anil Parwani, President, DPA. Pathologists from across the world attended the session. 

Dr Zehra is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology, JSMU. She is also the co-founder of Digital Pathology Pakistan (DPP).

Prof Shahid Rasul, Acting Vice-Chancellor, complimented Dr Talat Zehra on her accomplishment and said that ''Faculty of JSMU is dedicatedly involved in the refinement of knowledge in their respective fields, as a service to the nation.''

Prof Ghulam Sarwar Qureshi, Principal, Sindh Medical College, JSMU, said that ''digital pathology is now unquestionably the future. Through this honour, Dr Talat Zehra will be able to update her proficiency and dexterities to benefit the pupils and the healthcare sector.''  

He also congratulated Prof Saadia Akram, Head of Pathology Department, Sindh Medical College, for fostering an environment of academic and research excellence.
