NICVD conferred upon CSR award

KARACHI: The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) was conferred upon the 16th Corporate Social Responsibility Awards at a ceremony held in Islamabad.

Dr. Tariq Ahmed Shaikh, Administrative Executive at NICVD, received the award from Chaudhary Latif Akbar, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Azad Jammu & Kashmir.

Congratulating the NICVD team, Prof. Tahir Saghir, Executive Director of NICVD, said this prestigious award reflects NICVD's commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and its contribution to societal betterment.

The institute's dedication to advancing cardiovascular health and promoting community well-being has earned them this honor.

Prof. Saghir said that within a span of 7 years, NICVD has established 10 full-fledged hospitals and 28 Chest Pain Units across Sindh. This network has been providing prompt and easily accessible cardiac services to the people of Pakistan, entirely free of cost.

On the occasion, Dr. Tariq Shaikh said, "This award is a testament to NICVD's tireless efforts in promoting cardiovascular health and ensuring a positive impact on the communities we serve. It serves as motivation to continue our mission of providing accessible, quality healthcare and promoting a healthier society."

Dr. Shaikh said NICVD is a leader in cardiovascular care and research,  consistently demonstrating a deep sense of responsibility towards the community. Through innovative healthcare initiatives and community outreach programs, NICVD continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals affected by cardiovascular diseases, he added.

He said the award reaffirms NICVD's outstanding work in the healthcare sector, embodying the values of social responsibility, compassion, and commitment to public health.
