LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lahore, has announced detailed examination centre allocations for the Postgraduate Entrance Test (PGET) 2026, setting the stage for an important assessment in Punjab's postgraduate medical and dental admissions process.
Scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, the examination will take place simultaneously in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan for candidates seeking admission to Level-III postgraduate medical and dental programmes under the Central Induction Policy.

In a public notice, UHS has published the roll-number ranges assigned to examination centres, including specific buildings, floors, lecture halls and academic departments. The announcement is particularly significant for candidates preparing for the January 2027 postgraduate induction cycle, when qualifying PGET becomes a mandatory requirement for specified specialist training programmes.
The university has also reinforced a strict examination-day requirement: all centres will be closed and sealed at 9:00 AM, and candidates arriving after that time will not be permitted to enter under any circumstances.
The examination will be conducted at four institutions across Punjab, with candidates allocated to different facilities according to their roll numbers.
In Lahore, the examination will take place at the University of the Punjab, Examination Halls, Wahdat Road, where candidates have been assigned to designated halls across three floors.
Faisalabad Medical University, situated on Sargodha Road, will accommodate candidates in its examination building and designated academic departments, including facilities in the Dental Block.
In Rawalpindi, examination arrangements have been made at Rawalpindi Medical University, Old Campus, Tipu Road, with candidates distributed among academic halls, auditoriums and lecture theatres.
Meanwhile, Nishtar Medical University, Multan, will host candidates across four designated blocks, including examination halls, the Nursing College and facilities within the Mustafa Kamal Pasha Complex.
The allocation is more detailed than a simple city-wise distribution. Individual roll-number ranges correspond to particular buildings and examination facilities, making it essential for candidates to identify their exact assigned location.
The complete UHS public notice, reproduced with this report, contains the official roll-number ranges, examination centres and corresponding hall allocations for all four cities.
Although the first examination paper is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM, candidates will be required to enter their designated examination centres well before that time.
According to UHS, entry will begin at 8:00 AM, with all examination centres closing at 9:00 AM sharp.
The university has explicitly ruled out late entry, regardless of the circumstances.
The examination will comprise two papers. Paper I will run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a 30-minute break. Paper II will begin at 12:30 PM and conclude at 2:30 PM.
Candidates will not be permitted to leave their examination centres before the examination is over.
UHS has confirmed that admittance cards containing candidates' roll numbers and designated centres have already been issued. Candidates must download and print these documents from the university's official website.
The university has also outlined compulsory identification requirements and restrictions on materials permitted inside examination centres.
Every candidate must carry a printed PGET 2026 admittance card, along with an original and valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or passport.
The examination rules strictly prohibit mobile phones, calculators, books, notes, smartwatches, digital watches, smart glasses and electronic or wireless communication devices, including Bluetooth-enabled equipment.
Candidates are required to bring one transparent clipboard and two blue or black ballpoint pens. Lead pencils, markers, pointers and correction fluids are not permitted.
UHS has further clarified that examination centres will not provide safekeeping facilities for personal belongings, valuables, bags or prohibited items.
The detailed requirements, together with the examination schedule and centre-wise allocations, are included in the university's official notice.
PGET assumes greater importance under Punjab's postgraduate induction framework
The examination comes as Punjab prepares for an important change in the process governing admissions to advanced medical and dental training programmes.
According to the official UHS PGET admissions portal, qualifying the Postgraduate Entrance Test will become mandatory from the January 2027 induction for Level-III postgraduate programmes, including Master of Surgery (MS), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) and Fellowship of the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS), under the provincial government's Central Induction Policy.
The university has also stated that the Joint Centralized Admission Test (JCAT) will no longer be conducted or required for induction into university postgraduate programmes.
The development places PGET at the centre of the revised admissions framework, with implications for medical and dental graduates pursuing specialist qualifications through the programmes covered by the policy.
For prospective postgraduate trainees, the examination represents an important requirement in progressing towards advanced clinical education and specialist training.
Against that backdrop, the publication of examination centre allocations marks another stage in preparations for the October 25 test.
Candidates can access their examination-related information through the official UHS PGET portal.
With the examination only days away, the university's instructions leave little room for uncertainty: candidates must report to their assigned centres with the required documents and complete the entry process before the strict 9:00 AM deadline.
For doctors and dentists seeking to advance their professional training, ensuring compliance with these requirements will be an essential first step towards taking the examination.
