PIMA elects its provincial chapter heads

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has recently conducted the election of its provincial presidents for four provinces, AJ&K, and Gilgit Baltistan.

Following a comprehensive process, the association has concluded the election of provincial presidents and executive council members through confidential balloting during biennial provincial conventions. The newly elected members will serve a two-year term.

According to the results, Dr. Asif Mahmood Khokhar has been appointed as the President for Central Punjab, Dr. Noor Hussain Malik for North Punjab, Dr. Hafiz Habib ur Rahman for South Punjab, Dr. Fakhar Alam for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dr. Abdul Rasheed Wahab for Sindh, and Dr. Abdul Jabbar for Balochistan. Simultaneously, Dr. Muhammad Usman has been chosen by PIMA members in Azad Kashmir, while Dr. Anayatullah Khan Tahir has been elected by members in Gilgit-Baltistan as their respective Presidents.

The provincial-level medical conventions were held at various locations, including Faisalabad Medical University/Punjab Medical College in Punjab, Isra Medical University Hyderabad in Sindh, Saidu Medical College Swat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Quetta Press Club in Balochistan, Rawalkot in Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit city in Gilgit Baltistan. These conventions saw extensive participation from thousands of doctors.
