Ultrasound facility resumes at Abbasi after eight years

KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has restored the ultrasound facility in the Accident & Emergency Department of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) after an eight-year hiatus.

Because of the unavailability of ultrasound facility at the public hospital, emergency patients were forced to seek these services from external laboratories.

Medical Superintendent Dr. Javed Iqbal stated that efforts are underway to enhance the hospital's conditions. The echocardiography service has also been reinstated for cardiac patients, he added.

Stressing the need for improvements in the hospital's radiology department, Dr Iqbal assured that additional diagnostic services, including X-ray and CT scan, will soon be available to the public.
