Cop hurt in attack on polio team in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified assailants opened fire on a polio team at Shah-Alam village of Tank, leaving a policeman injured. 
According to a police spokesman, a police team was guarding the polio workers when terrorists launched an indiscriminate attack, injuring a policeman, Zahid. 
The police responded promptly, resulting in a 10-minute exchange of fire with the assailants, who managed to escape.
Following the incident, additional police force was dispatched to the area to track down the culprits. 
The injured policeman was shifted to the Tank District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), and later referred to Dera Ismail Khan due to the seriousness of his condition.
District Police Officer Abdul Salam Khalid visited the hospital to inquire after Zahid, who had come from Abbottabad to Tank for polio duty.
