Anti-Quackery teams seal 55 more clinics in a week

KARACHI: The Anti-Quackery teams of the Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) sealed 55 more quack clinics in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Shaheed Benazirabad in a week, bringing the total number of sealed clinics to 3629 in Sindh.

The Directorate of Anti-Quackery teams visited 102 healthcare establishments (HCEs) in a week in Karachi, Shaheed Benazirabad, Mirpurkhas, and Hyderabad. The teams sealed 55 clinics in a week bringing the total number of sealed clinics to 3629. While warnings had been issued to 31 clinics for non-compliance this week, 2027 total warnings were issued, and 7199 inspections were conducted to date.

The Directorate of Clinical Governance & Training, SHCC, conducted hands-on training for Primary Health Care Clinics on 21 October 2020. In this training session, all clinics of the SINA Health, Education, and Welfare Trust received training at the venue as provided by the Jinnah Medical and Dental College, S M Sohail Trust. The training was facilitated by Deputy Director Trainings, Dr Zainab Hasan, of the Directorate of Clinical Governance and Trainings. The training was given on Minimum Service Delivery Standards (MSDS).

The SHCC Acting CEO, S Baqar Raza Rizvi, and Director, Clinical Governance & Training, Dr Raza Kazmi, distributed certificates to the participants. In the previous quarter, the Directorate completed trainings of Hospitals, Clinics, and Hakeems across all six divisions of Sindh.

On the other hand, the Directorate of Complaints received 150 complaints so far, out of which 109 complaints have been disposed of, 33 complaints are under process, while eight have been sub-judiced.

Similarly, the Directorate of Licensing & Accreditation has received 34 new applications for registration this week, and the total number of registration applications reached 11,200 to date.

The SHCC issued certificates to 23 HCEs this week, bringing the total number of registration certificates issued to 9820. The SHCC has also issued provisional licenses to 434 HCEs to date.
