NCOC issues fresh guidelines to curb COVID-19

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had prolonged the virus-induced constraints established earlier this month until February 15.

The decision was taken as the fifth wave of the pandemic, driven by the Omicron variant of novel COVID-19, continues unabated across the nation. 

According to the sources, the NCOC held a meeting to assess coronavirus-induced standard operating procedures (SOPs) and resolved to keep the restrictions in place until February 15. 

The restrictions include a total prohibition on all indoor events in places where the positive ratio is greater than 10 per cent.

The NCOC had already warned that outdoor events in COVID-19 hotspots would be confined to 300 fully vaccinated people. 

Vaccination has also been made compulsory for all students over the age of 12. According to the report, half of the student populace under the age of 12 would attend classes.

According to the NCOC, 52 per cent of the population was vaccinated against infectious disease. According to a statement, the number of the eligible population was 153.6 million, out of whom 83 million people had been inoculated. According to the NCOC, 23.5 million persons were partially vaccinated.
