10kg tumors removed from woman's uterus in N Waziristan

PESHAWAR: Doctors in North Waziristan successfully performed a surgery to remove two tumors, totaling 10kg in weight, from a woman's uterus.

The surgery, conducted at the Government Hospital in Mir Ali sub-division, witnessed the removal of two tumors weighing 7kg and 3kg, respectively, from the patient's uterus.

Surgeon Dr. Hameed Ullah Dawar, who led the operation, says the patient, an elderly poor woman, had initially sought medical consultation at a private clinic. However, due to financial constraints preventing her from affording the operation, Dr. Hameed Ullah advised her to seek treatment at the Government Hospital in Mir Ali.

The surgery proved successful, with both tumors removed from the woman's uterus.

Meanwhile, Dr Waheedullah Wazir also successfully removed a 7kg tumor from another female patient's stomach.

Dr. Hameed Ullah thanked the medical team involved in the procedure, including Anesthesia expert Dr Noor Sadday Khan, Technician Qadir Ullah, and the technical staff, for their efforts in ensuring the success of the challenging operation despite limited resources.
