SHCC slashes dengue, malaria, and CBC test prices across Sindh to make healthcare affordable

SHCC reduces diagnostic test prices for dengue, malaria, and CBC to ease financial burden on patients

KARACHI: The Sindh Healthcare Commission (SHCC) has announced a major reduction in the prices of dengue, malaria, and CBC tests across Sindh, effective from October 21 to December 31, 2025. The move aims to provide financial relief to patients and ensure that essential diagnostic services remain accessible during the surge in seasonal diseases.

Dr. Ahson Qavi Siddiqi, CEO of SHCC, said the decision was taken in view of the increasing number of dengue and malaria cases being reported in Sindh. “Doctors are frequently referring patients for these tests, and SHCC took this decision to extend direct benefits to the general public,” he said. He added that the fixed rates will remain applicable till December 31, 2025.

Massive price reductions announced

The SHCC’s new pricing structure reflects a substantial decrease across major diagnostic tests:

• ICT malaria test: Reduced from up to Rs. 3,050 to Rs. 600.
• Dengue NS1 Ag (ICT/ELISA) test: Now Rs. 1,100, down from up to Rs. 4,550.
• Dengue IgM/combo test: Now Rs. 1,500, previously up to Rs. 4,150.
• CBC with smear test (including follow-up for dengue cases): Reduced from up to Rs. 1,250 to Rs. 500.

Prominent laboratories on board

Leading laboratories, including Aga Khan University Hospital, Dr. Essa Laboratory & Diagnostic Centers, and Chughtai Laboratory, have agreed to offer these tests at the new rates across Sindh. SHCC has advised all laboratories already offering lower or equivalent rates to continue with their existing pricing.
