The participants meeting sternly condemned the harassed call and SMS by extortion mafia received by one member.
The doctors are being kidnapped and harassed by extortion mafia, especially in Sindh province. This situation has persisting since a long time and created a sense of fear and unrest among the doctors fraternity. Receiving calls and SMSs in last few days has shocked the medical fraternity who is already feeling insecurity.
The participants of meeting said it seems that the government is not interested to provide security to the doctors and they feared a mass migration of medical professionals for the safety of their life.
They demand from government to provide security to all doctors otherwise a protest may be initiated which will result in increasing the suffering of poor patients, which POA as a patient friendly organization does not approve.
