SIUT refutes social media advisory attributed to Prof Adib Rizvi

KARACHI: The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) has clarified that its founding Director Prof Adib Rizvi has nothing to do with the baseless medical advisories attributed to him regarding kidney-related issues, circulating on some social media platforms.

The SIUT has reiterated that Prof Rizvi, an internationally recognized kidney specialist, never issues such baseless and non-scientific advisory messages for public consumption.

In a recent instance, a misleading medical advisory attributed to Prof Rizvi, circulating on social media platforms, claims that tea served in hotels should be avoided due to the alleged contamination of milk with certain chemicals, purportedly leading to kidney failure.

The institute says the public is informed that no such advisory has been issued by Dr Adib Rizvi or SIUT. Such misinformation can cause unwarranted panic and confusion among the masses, it adds.

It says that SIUT and Dr Rizvi reserve the right to take legal action against those disseminating false advisories for their ulterior and commercial motives.
