4,200 candidates set to compete for 510 seats at JSMU’s admission test

KARACHI: The Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) is all set to conduct its combined admission test tomorrow, Sunday, January 18, 2026. The highly anticipated test will determine the successful candidates for 510 seats across four major programs: BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing), DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy), Pharm-D (Doctor of Pharmacy), and BSMT (Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology). The competition is expected to be fierce, with 4,200 eligible candidates taking part in the exam.

Eligibility and arrangements for the test

Out of the 4,839 candidates who had registered for the test, 4,200 candidates were deemed eligible after a thorough screening process. JSMU has made extensive arrangements to accommodate the expected number of candidates. The university has prepared for 4,600 candidates to appear at the two campuses, ensuring sufficient space for smooth conduction of the exam.

Supervision and examination details

For effective supervision, 257 invigilators and 8 to 10 cluster heads (team leaders) have been appointed. The exam will use OMR sheets (Optical Mark Recognition) for answer recording, which will streamline the evaluation process. Results will be published on JSMU’s website once they are finalized.

Test timing and schedule

Candidates are required to report at 9:00 AM, and the examination will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The admission test will take place across both JSMU campuses in Karachi, where a carefully structured schedule has been put in place to ensure the exam runs without any issues.
