JSMU Landhi 3 campus goes fully operational

KARACHI: Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) celebrated the full operation of its third campus in Landhi by welcoming 260 students into the BS Medical Technology Programme across 11 specialized disciplines during an Orientation Ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony at Campus 3, JSMU Vice Chancellor Prof Amjad Siraj Memon S.I., underscored the significance of this expansion, stating, "We pledge to provide an educational experience that equips our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their field."
Prof Memon further highlighted the upcoming establishment of a multidisciplinary lab and research centre, saying it would enhance research capabilities, leading to new discoveries and advancements.
The Institute of Medical Technology-JSMU has introduced neo-natal and intensive care technology disciplines in its BSMT programme. 
Dr. Muhammad Imran Khan, the Director of IMT, stressed the importance of specialized care for infants and highlighted the critical role of the neo-natal programme in saving lives, improving healthcare quality, and supporting families.
In addition to academic facilities, JSMU Campus 3 offers a dedicated preventive cardiology facility to the public in collaboration with the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) and distinguished JSMU alumni such as senior US cardiologist Dr. Javed Suleman.
Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Saadia Akram addressed the large number of parents attending the event, saying that through this collaboration, students have a unique opportunity to contribute to the healthcare sector, not only in Landhi but also beyond.
JSMU Campus 3 boasts a range of facilities on campus, including a library, cafeteria, tuck shop, laboratories, air-conditioned conference rooms, and classrooms conducive to learning and personal growth.
The orientation ceremony was attended by Director QEC Dr Abdul Wahid Usmani, Director HR Dr. Rahat Naz, Director Administration Sohrab Zaman, In-charge Administration Campus 3 Noureen Zehra, Dr. Muhammad Ismail Jiskani, Vice President of the Allied Health Professionals Council, Head of Community Medicine, SMC Dr. Syed Tafazzul Hyder Zaidi, and other faculty members of JSMU.
