Prof Shahid Rasul appointed international advisor for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow

KARACHI: The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG) has appointed Prof Shahid Rasul, Executive Director of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), as its new International Advisor for Pakistan. This distinguished role reflects the College’s commitment to expanding its global network and advancing medical and surgical excellence in the country.

Prof Rasul’s appointment is for a three-year term, with an initial review after the first year to ensure alignment with the College’s objectives. In his new capacity, he will collaborate closely with the Pakistan Advisory Group, focusing on enhancing professional standards, fostering cross-border medical collaboration, and supporting healthcare professionals across the region.

As International Advisor, Prof Rasul will participate in three to four virtual meetings annually, engaging with leading global experts to promote medical education, professional training, and innovative healthcare practices.

Welcoming the appointment, Mr John Scott FRCS (Glasg), International Director and Vice President (Surgical) at RCPSG, said:
