Punjab launches Auction Policy 2025 to ensure transparency in hospital contracts

LAHORE: Punjab’s Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education has officially launched the Auction Policy 2025, a major governance reform aimed at enhancing transparency, digital oversight, and accountability in public hospital contract allotments across the province.

The initiative, supported by technical expertise from the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), will streamline and digitize the allocation process for contracts related to parking areas, canteens, tuck shops, and cafeterias within government hospitals.

With corruption and mismanagement often shadowing public sector contracts, Punjab's new policy is designed to eliminate favoritism, curb inefficiencies, and bring hospital operations under strict digital oversight.

The live dashboard developed by PITB allows real-time monitoring of all contract-related activities, ensuring transparency and minimizing the room for irregularities.
