Sindh to receive LSD vaccinations from Punjab

LAHORE: Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) vaccine will be provided to Sindh province by the Government of Punjab to help manage the disease among livestock.

While presiding over a video link meeting of commissioners and deputy commissioners at the Civil Secretariat, Kamran Ali Afzal, Chief Secretary, Punjab, issued this order to his subordinates under his authority.

Divisional commissioners also gave the Chief Secretary an in-depth briefing. Veterinary dispensaries in a union council could be approached for vaccination of cattle because there are enough vaccines available in Punjab to prevent LSD

This viral disease affects a large number of cattle, and the chief secretary warned it was a severe threat to their well-being.

He requested livestock from the secretary in order to launch a public awareness campaign against LSD.

Apart from continuing measures to prevent wheat and fertiliser smuggling, he instructed all deputy commissioners to register cases against those involved in wall-chalking. He said that the deputy commissioners should evaluate their districts' development projects for quality construction, and a third-party audit would also be done.

Prices for necessary commodities, the availability of fertilisers, and the development of public welfare projects were also discussed at the meeting. Administrative personnel were also ordered to set up Ramadan bazaars. The conference was attended by the secretaries of industry, agriculture, and food and members of the IG Special Branch and other relevant personnel.
