NEW YORK: Pfizer Incorporated anticipated a COVID-19 vaccine targeting the Omicron variant of COVID-19 to be available in March, according to the company's CEO.

Albert Bourla, Chief Executive Officer, Pfizer Inc, informed foreign media that the company was already producing doses in response to government interest, as authorities deal with high COVID-19 infection counts, including substantial numbers of breakthrough Omicron infections in vaccinated people.

Albert Bourla stated, "This vaccine will be ready in March." He added that the current vaccine regimen of two doses and a booster had provided sufficient protection against Omicron's deleterious health repercussions. However, a vaccination targeting the Omicron variation would protect against outbreaks of a strain that had proven highly contagious while also causing many mild or asymptomatic illnesses.
