KARACHI: The Young Nurses Association (YNA) Sindh has decided to boycott the COVID Vaccination Centres and Isolation Ward duties across the Sindh province from 12 April 2021 against the torture of a male nurse and the issuance of show-cause notices.

President, YNA, Sindh, Eijaz Kaleri, said that nurses under the banner of the YNA would boycott the Isolation Wards and the COVID Vaccination Centres duties after the failure of the Sindh Health Department to constitute an inquiry committee to probe the recent incident of torture on a male nurse in Karachi by the Additional District Health Officer (ADHO) and the issuance of show-cause notices.

He informed that the YNA also met with the Additional Secretary Health (General), Dadlo Zuhrani, and recorded their protest against lady ADHO and her security guard’s misbehaviour with the male nurse.

The YNA demanded an inquiry to probe the incident; however, no positive response has been received from the concerned authorities yet.  He said that the Sindh Health Department had compelled nurses to go on protest.
