KARACHI: The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) has been declared a global leader in heart attack care, receiving the prestigious 2025 Platinum Performance Achievement Award from the Chest Pain – MI Registry, an initiative of the American College of Cardiology (ACC).

This international recognition marks AKUH’s third consecutive performance award, and its second straight platinum-level honor—the highest distinction offered by the ACC for excellence in myocardial infarction treatment. The award confirms that AKUH ranks among the top-performing hospitals in the world for evidence-based, guideline-directed cardiac care.
