Consul-General of Sri Lanka visits PEBS

KARACHI: Mr Jagath Abeywarna, Consul-General Sri Lanka, paid a visit to the Pakistan Eye Bank Society (PEBS).

Mr Jagath Abeywarna visited different wards and units of PESB. He lauded services were being provided in the hospital.

On this occasion, Qazi Sajid, President, PEBS, and Dr Qazi Wasiq, Medical Director, briefed him about services provided in Pakistan Eye Bank Society in detail.

Qazi Sajid informed that PEBS has started corneal transplantation in med 1970 in Pakistan and received more than 35000 corneas from Sri Lanka. The PEBS performed 106 corneal transplants in the last four months.  

Kashif Farooqui , Ansarullah Siddiuqi , Capt. Abdul Shakoor Shaikh, Shahana Kaukab, Nusrat Jahan, Arshdad Siddiqui and Waseem Rais were also present.
