MDCAT 2025 registration opens nationwide for MBBS, BDS aspirants

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) has officially opened online registration for the Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2025, setting the stage for thousands of students aiming for MBBS and BDS admissions across the country.

This year’s MDCAT will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM (PST) and will be conducted through designated public sector universities in each province and territory.

• Start of online registration: August 8, 2025
• Regular fee deadline: August 25, 2025
• Late fee deadline: September 1, 2025

• Pakistan (Regular): PKR 9,000
• Pakistan (Late): PKR 13,000
• International Centres (Regular): PKR 45,000
• International Centres (Late): PKR 55,000

MDCAT is the mandatory gateway to MBBS and BDS programs in recognized medical and dental colleges across Pakistan. PMDC has urged students to complete their applications on time to avoid late fees and last-minute issues.

PMDC responds to fee hike controversy

Addressing recent claims of an “80% fee increase” circulating on social media, PMDC clarified that the rise in the 2025 registration fee is just 12.5% compared to last year. The fee for 2024 was PKR 8,000; it is now PKR 9,000 — an increase of only PKR 1,000.

According to PMDC, this modest adjustment was made at the request of the universities conducting the exam, citing increased costs for printing, security, examiner remuneration, and nationwide as well as international logistics.
