KARACHI: As part of World Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Awareness Week, the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) will host a Facebook Live session today from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time, focusing on the vital role of PICUs in managing critically ill children.
The session is titled “When Every Second Counts: Advanced Comprehensive Care for Critically Ill Children”, and will bring together top pediatric experts to answer public questions and share life-saving knowledge about urgent pediatric care.
PICUs provide 24/7 intensive care to children facing life-threatening illnesses or trauma—such as severe infections, breathing difficulties, or seizures. These units are equipped with advanced technology and staffed by highly trained professionals who make real-time decisions when minutes can mean the difference between life and death.
