NCOC Covid protocols to be enforced at all airports

KARACHI: Responding to a notable surge in Covid-19 cases globally, major airports across Pakistan are now actively implementing guidelines issued by the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).

The prescribed instructions encompass the mandatory screening of 2pc of all international flights arriving in Pakistan to swiftly identify and isolate potential Covid-19 cases among incoming passengers.

Furthermore, airports are mandated to conduct fumigation of passenger lounges at least once daily, aiming to create a clean and sanitized environment for passengers and staff, thereby reducing the risk of virus transmission.

The airports are under strict directives to extend full cooperation to the Border Health Services staff. This collaboration entails facilitating their tasks and ensuring strict adherence to all prescribed protocols and guidelines. These measures align with national initiatives to curb the spread of Covid-19 and safeguard public health.

Reiterating their commitment to passenger and staff safety, the country's airports aim to minimize the risk of Covid-19 transmission within the airport premises.

The adoption of these measures reflects a proactive approach in managing the ongoing pandemic and ensuring the safety of all stakeholders involved in air travel.
