Bioequivalence studies necessary to improve drug quality: NIH

KARACHI: NIH pharmacists visited the Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) in Karachi and met with Dr. Saif ur Rehman Khattak, the laboratory's director.

The necessity for bioequivalence studies to justify the quality of pharmaceuticals, particularly antibiotics, was a topic of discussion. CDL is an ISO 17025-certified laboratory currently undergoing WHO pre-qualification.

Pharmacists paid another visit to the Provincial Drug Testing Laboratory Sindh, where they met with the laboratory's director and the senior drug inspector. The team presented a synopsis of the National Action Plan on AMR, focusing on one of its initiatives dealing with DTS certification and assessments.
