Revamp of over 100 Punjab hospitals underway with Rs96bn 

LAHORE: The caretaker provincial Health Minister, Prof Dr Javed Akram, inaugurated modern MRI and CT scan machines worth Rs720 million at the Lahore General Hospital (LGH).

Dr Javed Akram underscored the interim Punjab government's commitment to serving the people with sincerity and good intentions.

He highlighted ongoing revamp of more than 100 government hospitals across Punjab, with an investment of Rs96 billion, attributing the initiative to Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi's commitment to provide better healthcare facilities to the people.

Responding to queries, Prof Javed stressed the government’s dedication with which every project is executed to enhance convenience for the people of Punjab.

Acknowledging the efforts of Principal of Ameeruddin Medical College Al-Fareed Zafar and his team, Prof Dr Javed Akram commended the installation of the MRI and CT scan machines which he said are important for diagnosis and treatment of trauma cases at LGH.

Prof Zafar highlighted LGH's role as a crucial healthcare provider, receiving over 8,000 patients from across the country daily. He emphasized that the hospital's upgrade will significantly enhance facilities and services for patients.
