KARACHI: PMD predicted that the average temperature across Sindh would significantly increase.

PMD Issues Heatwave Alert in Sindh for June 05th to June 09th

From Sunday, June 05th to Thursday, June 09th, 2022, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the daytime temperature in most of the country will significantly rise.

PMD predicts that the coming week will see considerable temperature rises over normal across parts of Pakistan's most populous provinces — Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Sindh, and Eastern Balochistan.

In addition, PMD has predicted that storms and dust winds will follow high temperatures in the afternoon or evening.

Thus, a prolonged heatwave could cause water shortages in reservoirs, crops, and vegetation.

As a result of the foregoing, the NDMA has issued directives to departments in charge of ensuring that essential precautions are taken.

As part of their training, PDAs and DDMAs learned how to work together with other departments to prevent disasters and respond swiftly when they do occur.
The general population is likewise urged to limit their time in the sun.
