Imran nominates Gulzar, opposition terms it illegal, unconstitutional

ISLAMABAD: Gulzar Ahmed, a former Chief Justice of Pakistan, has been nominated by Imran Khan to serve as caretaker prime minister.

Fawad Chaudhry, a PTI leader, made the news, saying the prime minister took the decision after the party's core committee approved it.

As a result of a recommendation from the president, the National Assembly deputy speaker had dismissed a no-confidence resolution against Prime Minister Imran. The president then dissolved Parliament.

Two nominations from each party will be assigned to a committee formed by the speaker, comprised of eight members from either side of the aisle, with equal representation from the Treasury and the opposition, if they cannot come to an agreement within three days of the dissolution.

The President of PML-N has vowed that he will not participate in the election and has called the process "illegal."

As for how they plan to handle the opposition, he asserted that the president and prime minister had broken the law.

Last year, Nasla Tower, a high-rise residential structure in Karachi, Pakistan, was scheduled to be demolished on June 28, 2021, by Gulzar Ahmed. Following a court order, destruction began on November 24 and was finished two months later.
