First Lady Of Pakistan Graces Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

KARACHI: Syma Nadeem, Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination, organized a breast cancer awareness campaign in a school in Karachi on the instructions of Begum Samina Alvi, wife of Dr Arif Alvi, the President of Pakistan.

Begum Samina Arif Alvi graced the occasion as the chief guest and encouraged the students and teachers to take this message forward to help each other. She spoke on occasion, emphasizing that the disease has increased in the last ten years and urgent steps need to be taken to reduce it.

Due to this campaign, almost all the hospitals conducted free check-ups alongside schools and educational facilities, actively spreading awareness of the disease all October.

MNA Syma Nadeem said many breast cancer patients in Pakistan because women do not talk openly about the disease. Early diagnosis can control the disease. The exact cause of breast cancer is not yet known. Breast cancer is becoming more common in women.

Ms Syma added that women in Pakistan between the ages of 30 and 40 are getting breast cancer which needs to be controlled. Lady Health Workers are going door to door to the people in Quetta. A universal number has also been opened where you can get consultations from female doctors. Malls and Clinics throughout the country are also following this campaign now.
