MSPH thesis successfully defended at JSMU

KARACHI: Dr Arit Parkash, a scholar of Master of Science in Public Health (MSPH), successfully defended his thesis at the 24th thesis defence research seminar led by APPNA Institute of Public Health (AIPH), Jinnah Sindh Medical University (JSMU) and the Research Department at the VC Boardroom on February 2, 2022. 

Dr Arit completed his research work under the supervision of Dr Shiraz Shaikh, Associate Professor AIPH-JSMU, on the subject 'Changes in Caloric Consumption, Physical Activity, and Body Mass Index during the month of Ramadan among Doctors of a Public Sector University.' 

The thesis defence seminar was assessed by the committee members, including two external examiners, Dr Romaina Iqbal, Professor, Department of Community Health Sciences, Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), Professor Munir Ahmed Saleemi, Head of Community Medicine, College of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Lahore (UOL), and one internal examiner Professor Ghazala Usman, Chairperson, Department of Community Medicine, JSMU

Professor Shahid Rasul, Acting Vice-Chancellor, JSMU, praised the MSPH graduate for the hard work and congratulated him on successfully defending his thesis. 

Dr Arit thanked Professor Lubna Ansari Baig and Shiraz Shaikh for their supervision and assistance towards the end of the presentation.
