COVID-19 death toll rises to 7,622 in Sindh

KARACHI: COVID-19 leaded 7,622 people to death and new cases of 197 COVID-19 had been reported. 

Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister of Sindh, recently notified citizens about the death of one more patient of COVID-19, and the death toll surged to 7,622, and it established a 1.6 per cent death rate. 

Syed Murad Ali Shah stated that 197 cases were detected from 12,443 samples. Further, overall 474,946 cases were diagnosed from 6,756,548 tests. Fortunately, 97 per cent of patients had recovered. 

According to Syed Murad Ali Shah, 6,862 patients were under treatment, 6,658 were in isolation at their homes, 14 at isolation centres and 190 at different healthcare facilities. However, the condition of 185 patients was stated to be critical, and 16 of them were shifted to ventilators.  

Moreover, out of 197 new cases, 40 have been detected from Karachi, including 18 from District East, 10 from District South, 7 from District Central, 2 from District Malir and District West each, 1 from District Korangi. 

Jamshoro had 22, Dadu 20, Sanghar 19, Thatta 17, Hyderabad 16, Mirpurkhas 13, Badin 10, Nausheroferoze 9, Tando Muhammad Khan 8, Umerkot 7, Tando Allahyar 6, Tharparkar 6 each and Larkana had 3 COVID-19 patients.

Syed Murad Ali Shah enlightened residents that 24,136,080 vaccinations had been administered until November 29th. Recently, 74,086 vaccines were inoculated, and overall, 24,210,166 vaccines had been administered, representing 44.98 per cent of the vaccine eligible population. 

Nevertheless, The Chief Minister of Sindh insisted society should abide by SOPs.
