Pakistan confirms its first Omicron case

KARACHI: The Sindh Health Department recently stated that Pakistan had reported the first case of the novel COVID-19 strain Omicron.

The first Omicron case was identified in a lady from Karachi, according to Mehar Khursheed, the provincial health department's media coordinator. She stated the diseased woman was unvaccinated when she was taken to Aga Khan University Hospital for treatment. According to a letter from the District Health Office in Karachi's East district, the 57-year-old had been discharged from the hospital and was suggested to be isolated at home. She had no prior flying experience.

The rapid response team was taken on board promptly, according to the notification, for tracking, testing, quarantining, vaccination, and other preventative steps to restrict the infection's spread in accordance with the National Command and Operation Centre's regulations.
