KARACHI: The Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 for candidates in Sindh will be conducted on Sunday, 16 August 2026, under the supervision of Sukkur IBA Testing Services (SIBA).
The announcement is a major development for thousands of aspiring medical and dental students who have been waiting for confirmation of the examination date and their designated test cities.
According to the official information released by SIBA Testing Services, examination centres have been established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Mirpurkhas, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Islamabad.
The availability of centres across multiple cities is intended to make the entrance examination more accessible to candidates from different parts of Sindh. A centre has also been arranged in Islamabad for Sindh-based applicants who selected the federal capital as their examination city.
MDCAT 2026 test centres
Candidates assigned to Karachi will appear for the test at the NED University of Engineering and Technology.
In Hyderabad, the examination will be conducted at Public School, Unit No. 03, Latifabad.
The Jamshoro test centre will be established at the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS).
Candidates appearing from Mirpurkhas have been assigned the Mir Sher Muhammad Talpur Public School.
In Larkana, the test venue will be the Police Training School Ground on Wagan Road.
The centre for Shaheed Benazirabad will be located at the Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology (QUEST).
Candidates appearing in Sukkur will take the examination at the IBA Public School, Gate No. 03, Old Airport Road, Kheer Thar Canal, near Bashirabad.
Sindh candidates who selected Islamabad as their test city will appear at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), Sector F-5/1.
Three-hour examination
SIBA Testing Services said the total duration of MDCAT 2026 will be three hours, or 180 minutes.
Candidates have been advised to remain punctual and reach their respective examination centres according to the reporting time communicated by the testing service.
No candidate will be permitted to leave the examination hall before the completion of the full test duration.
For many students, the announcement now begins the final and most demanding phase of MDCAT preparation. With the examination date confirmed, candidates have a limited period to revise major subjects, attempt practice papers and prepare the documents required for entry into the test centre.
Students should also carefully check their admit cards and official instructions once issued, particularly their assigned venue, reporting time and identification requirements. Arriving at the wrong venue or after the permitted reporting period could place an entire year of preparation at risk.
Facilities for candidates and parents
The testing service said dedicated waiting areas will be available for parents at all examination centres.
Candidates will also be provided with the required test stationery and clean drinking water inside the examination halls.
The arrangements are expected to help candidates remain focused during the high-stakes entrance examination, which plays a decisive role in admission to medical and dental colleges.
