Eminent pediatrician Dr Yasmin Akbani dies in plane crash

KARACHI: Eminent pediatrician Dr. Yasmeen Akbani was one of the victims of the Karachi plane crash.

She was traveling in the plane that crashed near the Model Colony area of Karachi. Dr. Yasmeen Akbani served duties as a pediatrician at the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) and, after retirement from KMC, offered voluntary services at a clinic in the slums of the city.

She was also a senior member of the Child Aid Association’s (CAA) executive committee, National Institute of Child Health.

Head of Child Aid Association, Prof Dr. Nizam, confirmed the death of Dr. Yasmin Akbani in the plane crash.

Dr. Akbani was known to have a lively personality who was very dedicated to her work.
