More than 300 Polio cases reported in Pakistan in 2014

KARACHI- After the reporting of six new polio cases across Pakistan the total polio cases in 2014 reached 303, a health official confirmed recently.

In the last days of 2014, two new polio cases were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, two from Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA)/ and one each from Sindh and Punjab province.

In Pakistan, 178 polio cases were reported from Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), 23 in Baluchistan, 68 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,30 in Sindh and four in Punjab during 2014. Thus the total number of polio cases reached 303 thorough the country .

Officials of health department said; 10-month old Abdul Aleem son of Abdul Haq of Nousheroferoz district, was the latest victim of polio reported in Sindh province and thus the number of total polio cases reached 30 in the province, during 2014.
