Karachi: Sindh Health Care Commission will monitor and improve quality and standards of the health care services in the province and those who will fail to implement its recommendations will be fined up to Rs 500,000.

Moreover, the commission may also revoke licence of any health care service provider if proved that it had been obtained through fraudulent means.

This was stated by Sindh Health Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar while talking to newsmen at his office.

Replying to a query, he said that the commission has been assigned the task of investigating into the cases pertaining to maladministration, malpractices and failure to provide proper health care services.

He said that the commission will enjoy powers of imposing heavy fine on those who will be found guilty of flouting rules and regulations of Sindh Health Care Act. The commission would also advocate for the rights and responsibilities of recipients and providers of the health care services.

The commission would hold seminars and conferences to create awareness about provisions of high quality health care services, the minister said, adding that all-out efforts would be made to develop partnership with other organizations so as to streamline and improve working of health care facilities.
