Pakistan Sees 75 pc Drop In Covid-19 Cases

ISLAMABAD: Covid-19 cases have gone down by 75 per cent, and the number of patients admitted in critical care at hospitals has dropped four times in Pakistan over the last two months.

On the other hand, 698 persons tested positive for Covid-19 and nine patients passed away over the past 24 hours. This update left the national positivity rate standing at 1.65 per cent.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the number of active cases was around 90,000 two months ago and dropped to less than one-third of that number, 23,940 active cases, as of recently.

The data also shows that the number of Covid-19 patients inoculated in hospitals across the country two months ago was 6,000. Recently, only 1,591 patients were hospitalized. 218 ventilators are now being utilized across the country, while oxygen bed occupants have also decreased.

The country has so far conducted over 20 million tests of Covid-19.

In Pakistan, 1,269,234 cases have been reported, out of which 1,216,908 patients have recovered and 28,386 died.
