LAHORE- The sudden and unilateral increase in the prices of Oxygen (200% increase) by the producers and providers of Oxygen has been severely criticized by the Young Doctors Association (YDA), Pakistan.
According to a press release, the central leader of YDA - Dr Salman Kazmi has stated that, surprisingly, none of the companies supplying oxygen to government hospitals was registered with the Drug Regulatory Authority and no decision to register oxygen as a medicinal product had been taken up till now by the authority.
Dr. Salman further said that; There were no checks and balances on the composition of oxygen being supplied to the hospitals. The price hike was badly affecting the public as well as the government/private hospitals.
