Ziauddin varsity inks MoU with INJAZ-Pakistan

KARACHI - Ziauddin University and INJAZ-Pakistan, partnered together to recognize the value of promoting advancement of the university’s students.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed in this connection between the two organizations is aimed at boosting employment opportunities and youths’ capacity building.

The Ziauddin University and INJAZ-Pakistan will work together to make collaborative efforts for workforce development in Karachi.  INJAZ Pakistan will teach entrepreneurial and work readiness skills to Ziauddin University students in all disciplines which include medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, media studies, bio-medical engineering, allied sciences, nursing, speech language and hearing sciences and physical therapy through interactive training workshops to be facilitated by trained volunteers.

The MoU was signed by Ziauddin University’s director (Student Affairs) Raza Abbas and INJAZ-Pakistan’s CEO Uzma Khan at a ceremony attended by Ziauddin University’s vice chancellor Prof Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, Chancellor’s adviser Dr Anwar Ejaz Baig, Dean Faculty of Pharmacy Dr Ali Akbar Sial and officials of the university and the NGO.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui opined that soft skills and counseling should be an essential component of Pakistan’s educational system.

Uzma Khan said: “Youth unemployment in Pakistan is on the rise.”  “The results of various studies indicate that obtaining employment is amongst the biggest challenges faced by young people in our country,” she said, adding that it was with this in mind that ‘Career Success and Work Readiness programmes’ were developed.

Raza Abbas said that the capacity building workshops are the need of the time for the students’ much-needed professional development so as to enable them to thrive in today’s competitive global world.  

INJAZ Pakistan will act as training provider for quality and delivery of training.
