21 more HIV positive cases detected in Ratodero

RATODERO: HIV disease positive cases continued to surface in the Ratodero district since 25th April 2019 when the first screening camp was organized.

Recently, as many as 21 HIV positive cases were detected out of which 465 were screened at the Blood Screening Camp established in Taluka Headquarter Hospital, Ratodero, bringing the total number of the cases so far to 638 which indeed is a very alarming situation.

Screening camps were also established at Banguldero and Naundero where 77 and 132 people were tested respectively, but all 209 cases emerged negative, fortunately. The Sindh AIDS Control Program confirmed that out of 21554 people so far tested for HIV from the general population, as many as 638 had been detected HIV positive. Out of these total cases, 116 are adults and 522 children.
