Viral video of flooded ward falsely linked to Jinnah Hospital Karachi
KARACHI: As heavy monsoon rains grip Pakistan, a video showing a hospital ward submerged in floodwater has gone viral on social media with claims that it is from Jinnah Hospital Karachi.
However, after verification, the claim has been proven false.
When Medical News Pakistan contacted the spokesperson of Jinnah Hospital Karachi and shared the viral footage, he clarified that the video does not belong to Jinnah Hospital Karachi.
“The viral clip does not show our hospital. Jinnah Hospital Karachi does not have the type of doors, chairs, or interior design seen in that video,” the spokesperson confirmed.
The spokesperson also shared a latest photograph of Jinnah Hospital Karachi’s interior, which appeared neat and clean with no signs of rainwater. The hospital’s layout, furniture, and overall design in the image looked entirely different from the setting shown in the viral video, further confirming that the footage was not from Jinnah Hospital.
The clarification comes at a time when misinformation spreads rapidly during national crises. Authorities and media outlets are urging the public to verify information before sharing it online to avoid panic.
