Dengue claims one more life in Karachi

KARACHI - Dengue viral fever on Friday claimed one more life in Karachi, taking death toll caused by the dreaded disease during the current month to three.  

Provincial Manager of Dengue Prevention & Control Programme Dr Masood Ahmed Solangi said that a 20-year-old Abdul Ghafoor, who was a resident of Village Soomer Khashkeil Rahmanabad, Mohallah Nabepur, Mawach Goth, Karachi, died from dengue fever during his treatment at Civil Hospital Karachi.

He said that six patients had died from dengue viral fever since Jan 1, 2015.

Of the total 2,258 dengue fever cases reported in Sindh between Jan 1 and Oct 16, 2015, around 2,203 were detected from Karachi alone, he added.
