ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the schedule, fee structure, test pattern and examination centres for the Medical & Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026, required for admissions to MBBS and BDS programmes.
According to the public notice, MDCAT 2026 will be conducted on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 10:00am PST through designated admitting and test-conducting universities across Pakistan.
The registration process will begin online from June 22, 2026, with the normal registration window closing on July 8, 2026. Candidates who miss the normal deadline will be able to register with a late fee until July 13, 2026.

Candidates appearing in Pakistan and at the international test centre will have separate registration fees.
PM&DC has stated that the registration fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
MDCAT 2026 test centres
The test will be conducted in different cities and venues depending on the number of applicants.
Important instructions for choosing test centre
PMDC has advised candidates to choose one city or centre from the notified list. Candidates will be allowed to appear in MDCAT only in the province or region of their domicile.
However, candidates having domicile of Sindh may also select a test centre at Islamabad through the respective university.
The public notice further states that once a city or centre is selected, it cannot be changed.
MDCAT 2026 paper pattern
MDCAT 2026 will be a multiple-choice, paper-based test conducted in the English language.
The test will consist of 180 MCQs, with no negative marking.

According to the notice, the MDCAT 2026 curriculum and syllabus will be available on the PMDC website. Furthermore, for registration and further details, candidates have been advised to visit mdcat.pmdc.pk
PMDC has also warned that incomplete applications will not be accepted. The council has retained the right to change the schedule if required.
