Dengue viral fever claims another life

KARACHI- Dengue viral fever has claimed another life in Karachi thus increasing the death toll to three in 2015, while 100 more dengue cases were confirmed in a week.

Sources at Dengue Prevention and Control Program, Sindh, confirmed that a 28-year old man, resident of Qayyumabad, was brought, a week ago to a private hospital where he died during treatment in hospital.

The diagnostic report confirmed that the man was suffering from dengue fever.

Sources also informed that over a 100 dengue viral fever cases had been reported across Karachi in a week, raising the patients toll to 532 this year so far. All three deaths occurred in karachi alone.

He said a total of 362 dengue fever cases have been reported since January 2015, out of them 332 were detected positive in Karachi, while 18 cases were reported from rest of Sindh province, with 12 cases being reported from Balochistan province as well.
