SISD: 30 employees relieved

Karachi: As many as 30 employees of Sindh Institute of Skin Diseases (SISD), including doctors and paramedics, have been relieved from institution under the directives of health department Sindh, causing grave inconvenience for visiting patients, SISD sources told.

Sources said 14 doctors and 16 paramedical staff have been relieved from skin hospital in compliance of the Apex court order, which increased the burden on existing doctors and paramedical staff. The shortage of doctors and paramedical staff has also double the miseries of patients.

There are 66 posts of male and female doctors in institution out of which 12 posts are lying vacant, while 14 have been relieved from hospitals under the directives of health department, causing hardship for administration to run the affairs of skin hospital smoothly.  They said only 40 doctors are available in hospital while 26 posts are lying vacant in healthcare.

Sources said Sindh Institute of Skin Diseases (SISD), Karachi, is Sindh’s largest skin care institution where 2000 to 2500 patients visits OPDs on a daily basis for special skin care treatments but shortage of doctors and paramedical staff, is causing great hardship for the administration tosmoothly run the affairs of hospital.

Director, Sindh Institute of Skin Diseases, DrJameel Ahmed Siddiqui, was not available for comments.
