Maryam Nawaz to introduce Japanese healthcare system in Punjab
LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a landmark initiative to introduce Japan’s advanced healthcare and treatment management system in Punjab. The move is aimed at modernizing hospitals, improving patient care, and adopting international best practices in public health.
During her visit to Japan’s National Center for Global Health, the Chief Minister reviewed state-of-the-art medical equipment, innovative treatment methods, and modern hospital management systems. Officials briefed her on how Japan’s integrated healthcare model ensures efficiency, transparency, and high-quality patient outcomes.
Maryam Nawaz further revealed plans to establish the Nawaz Sharif Medical District modeled on Japan’s healthcare system. This medical hub will be developed with cutting-edge infrastructure, smart hospital management, and patient-centric services designed to uplift the quality of care across Punjab.
In addition, the Punjab government will collaborate with Japanese researchers for advanced treatment solutions in chronic and infectious diseases, including diabetes, liver ailments, and viral infections. The initiative is expected to not only improve healthcare delivery but also reduce the burden of non-communicable and infectious diseases in the province.
Health experts believe this collaboration could mark a turning point for Punjab’s healthcare system by introducing evidence-based practices, digital health integration, and specialized treatment centers.
